தொலைக்காட்சித் தொடர்களிலும் மர்மதேசம், விடாது கருப்பு, ருத்ர வீணை, சிவமயம் என்று எனது ஆன்மிக மர்ம முயற்சிகள் தொடர்ந்தபடி இருக்கின்றன.அபரிமிதமாய்க் கிடைக்கும் வரவேற்பு, அடுத்து இன்றைய நாவல்கள் நடுவில் மிகவே மாறுபடுகிறோம் என்கிற அந்த வித்யாச உணர்வு இதுதான். ஆன்மிக மர்ம நாவல்கள் என்னிடையே உருவாகக் காரணம்.இந்தக் கன்னிகள் ஏழு பேரும் கூட அப்படி ஒரு முயற்சியே. சப்தகன்னிகள் பற்றி நிறையவே கேள்விப்பட்டிருப்போம். ஆனால் அவர்களைப் பற்றி புராண ரீதியாக நமக்கு எவ்வளவு தெரியும் என்று கேட்டால் மௌனம் தான் பதிலாகக் கிடைக்கும்.புராண ரீதியாக அவர்கள் யாவர் என்பதை நன்கு தெரிந்து கொண்டு பின் அவர்களை மையமாக வைத்து இந்த நாவலை நான் எழுதினேன். நான் புரிந்து கொண்டதை வாசக உலகமும் தெள்ளத் தெளிவாகப் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகவே பாண்டித்யமான தமிழில் அவர்களை அணுகாமல், நமது மொழிவழக்கில் கேள்விகள் பல கேட்டு பின் அவர்களை விளங்கிக் கொள்ள முயன்றுள்ளேன். இம்மாதிரி முயற்சிகளில் ஈடுபடும் போது கவனமாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஏன் என்றால் நமது இந்து மதம் நமக்கு அளித்திருக்கும் ஒப்பற்ற சுதந்திரம் காரணமாக நானே சில இடங்களில் தவறாக விளங்கிக் கொண்டு பிறகு அதை உங்களுக்கும் சொல்லிவிடும் ஒரு சிக்கலும் இதில் வந்துவிட வாய்ப்புள்ளது.
இதனால் அந்தத் தெய்வம் ஒன்றும் கோபித்துக் கொண்டு சபித்துவிடப் போவதில்லை. ஆனால் நான் செய்த தவறு ஒரு தொடர்கதையாகித் தொடர்வது நான் ஆன்மிக நெறியாளர்களுக்கு செய்த ஒரு துரோகம் போல ஆகிவிடும். ஏனென்றால் தவறாக ஒரு விஷயத்தை விளங்கிக் கொண்டு அதை சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போன பலரால் இன்றும் பல தவறான நடைமுறைகளை நான் நமது மதத்துக்குள் பார்த்து வருகிறேன்.
அதே தவறை நான் செய்துவிடக்கூடாது என்பதால் மிகுந்த கவனத்துடன் பல நூல்களைப் படித்து சப்தமாதாக்களை பற்றி விளங்கிக் கொண்டே நான் இந்த நாவலை எழுதினேன்.ஒரு வகையில் இந்த முயற்சியை நான் செய்ய அந்த சப்த மாதாக்களின் அருளே காரணம். அவர்கள் ஆசியில்லாவிட்டால் என்னால் இவ்வளவு பெரிய நாவலை நிச்சயம் எழுதியிருக்க முடியாது.ஒரு எழுத்தாளன் தனது காலத்திற்குப் பிறகும் தான் பேசப்பட வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புவான். அப்படி ஒரு விருப்பத்தின் பேரில் பார்த்தால் இந்த நாவலின் மூலம் நான் பேசப்படக் கூடும்.
